A New Testament Church for the modern age”

The apostle Paul made two interesting statements that bear on teaching.

2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

2 Timothy 2:2 And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.

Luke 4:4 And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.

Further to this, Jesus made the following statement.

A large part of the New Testament is given to teaching, as was much of the ministry of Jesus. Jesus did not just heal people. Paul did more than evangelize. They were also teachers, communicating truth. There is a good reason to bring truth.

John 8:31 So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed in him, "If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples,

John 8:32 and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." (ESV)
